GETTING MORE VALUE FROM YOUR PR EVENT
PR event organizers should look beyond the NOW and pause to consider the bigger picture: the purpose or objective of the event being proposed.
For the most part Event management is largely about project management using your checklists to deliver within the time frames, but all these are done wearing the PR thinking cap First, consider the purpose of the event. Each event must be ensured to meet its key purpose. consider what your audience or attendees. What would they expect from the event and how it is in resonance with what we want from it.
For instance, my State chapter hosted a recent annual conference of our National Body. Why? Because it is our turn? Or because It was several years since we last hosted the conference? NO!! We hosted because the location of the event is part of the strategic plan of the National Body to achieve so of its objectives (within the bigger picture)
